Like any experimental endeavor, we faced lots of challenges and failures among the many successes. Luckily, the team was quite gritty and most importantly humorous, which made even the toughest problems solvable. Sadly, no matter the talent and creativity I was surrounded with, there was very little anyone could do once the concrete slowly seeped through my clothing and eventually burned my right nipple. Game over…
On a more serious note: working with the material, we all became keenly aware of the environmental and health challenges of concrete and cement construction. While 3D printing helps to save material, more needs to be done. Concrete excessively burns our planet’s resources!
